Squash Racket Stringing

A professional squash racket stringing service is available to all members. Chris Sanlon is a Certified Stringer with the European and United States Stringers Associations (ERSA & USRSA) and has been stringing rackets for over 10 years.

Free advice on what string and what tension would best suit your game is available by contacting Chris. You can also arrange to have your current strings electronically checked for free.

WHEN SHOULD YOU GET YOUR RACKET RE-STRUNG?

This is one of the most common questions and there is no hard and fast answer to it. You should not necessarily just wait until your strings break! Generally you should have your racket re-strung at least once a year. Strings lose tension over time - regardless of whether or not you are playing with them. The general rule of thumb is the number of times you get your racket strung in a year should be the number of times you play a week. So if you play three times a week on average you should be getting 3 restrings a year.

With the huge improvements in the technology now you might be surprised how much difference new strings can make to your game!

WHAT TENSION?

Most people assume that the higher the tension the more power you will get. The opposite is in fact the case:

Tighter = more control / less power
Looser = more power / less control

There are now thousands of different strings available. We have a good selection of different strings available but if you have something specific which we do not have in stock then it can usually be sourced within a couple of days.
