Rowing at belfast boat club

Set on the beautiful River Lagan, Belfast Boat Club has a state of the art boat house and a fleet of modern boats which are enjoyed by both competitive and social rowers  all year round. Never rowed before? Rowing is available for all levels and we offer trial sessions if you’d like to try it out.

Belfast Boat Club hosts Rowing Ireland’s High Performance Academy. Our novice and junior squads consist of all ages. The main focus of these squads is to learn to row and race while enjoying the social side of the sport. It’s a great way to get fit and meet new people. Coaching is available for all ages and levels from experienced rowers.

The Belfast Boat Club Masters squads are made up of oarsmen and women who train all year round and compete throughout Ireland, the UK and beyond.

Whether you have rowed before and would like to get back into the sport or you’d like to try something new get in touch and we will find the right rowing option for you.

‘Try Rowing’ sessions are run periodically through the year and are open to members and non-members. Keep an eye on our news section and social media for details or contact reception on 9066 5012.

Canoeing is a great pastime and is open to all who have an interest in the outdoors, regardless of your age or fitness level. In partnership with CANI we are setting up a Boat Club Canoe & Kayaking division and plan to make social canoeing available for Boat Club members in the New Year. CANI have kindly offered to lend their boats and equipment free of charge and there will be organised sessions available for adults, juniors and families on a Saturday morning, all supervised by a qualified canoeing coach.
