Rowing at the Belfast Boat Club
We have a state-of-the-art boathouse and a range of boats enjoyed by both competitive and social rowers all year round.
Rowing is one of many sports enjoyed by club members, with many rowers participating in these other sports too.
If you have never rowed before, then you really don’t know what you’re missing. A sport for all ages. A ’controlled’ way to maintain fitness and enhance your competitiveness. Finally, relax amongst new friends in the bar and lookout for what’s on around the Club throughout the year.
There is a comprehensive local calendar of events throughout the year. Additionally, crews of all levels travel abroad taking part in events in other parts of Great Britain and Ireland and internationally as well.
Rowing is available for all ages and all categories, from Juniors to Masters. You are a Master (or veteran) from the age of 27!
If you have rowed before and are keen to just get back into it, you will see below the way forward. For others, it is easier and a more positive experience to join our recruitment/coaching sessions which are normally held twice a year, in the spring and summer.
It is quite possible to row as a single person (sculling). Normally when we run our recruitment/coaching sessions, we look to have at least 4 people in a boat building to 8.
